Modeling The Business Architecture
Business modeling is a technique to model business processes. Business models provide ways of expressing the business processes in terms of business activities and collaborative behavior so you better understand the business process itself and the participants in the process.
Business modeling helps you understand where the system is being deployed, who will use the system, how the system needs to integrate with existing systems and what specific business tasks will be automated. Understanding these things is key to deploying a successful system.
